This course gives a good overview of the mechanical design of transmissions G140, G141 & G211 designed for the Actros, Arocs, Antos (Trucks of 18 tonnes and above).
Diagnosis, mechanical disassembly, repair, assembly and current repair work on the components.
Course objectives:
- To repair the mechanical components of engines OM936 and OM471 to Mercedes-Benz standards
- To diagnose the mechanical components, plan and perform repair scopes correctly using WIS (Reference will be made to the special tools and procedures)
- Explain the function and design of different detachable parts such as sensors, transmission positioners and countershaft brakes
- Properly disassemble the main transmission using the correct service aids and set specified fit sizes during assembly
- Properly disassemble and assemble the main shaft in accordance with regulations and state special considerations associated with the components
- Inspect transmission components and use WIS to plan and explain the necessary repair scopes
