This course gives a good overview of the three different Power Assisted Steering systems (PAS) the Additional Steered Axle (ASA) and the Servo Twin the electrically assisted steering fitted to Mercedes-Benz trucks. You will also study the air suspension system (CLCS). Particular emphasis is given to the safety implications whilst working on and working with air suspension systems and power assisted steering systems. Course objectives: The participant can perform test, adjust and repair work using current diagnosis systems and workshop information systems independently and efficiently. Course content: Design and function of: The standard hydraulically assisted steering system, The electronically steered additional axle, The “Servo Twin” steering system as fitted to the Actros and Arocs four axle vehicle, The Chassis Level Control System (CLCS) for semi and full air suspension, Practical work on the chassis systems, Steering systems, Additional steering axle (ASA), Dual-circuit steering system, Chassis Level Control System (CLCS), Electronic Air Processor Unit (EAPU), Practical work on the chassis systems.
